It was painful, but I couldn’t be more proud. He put up with Nole. It was an absolutely epic match, the longest in Australian Open history. In the greatest tennis matches of this generation, Rafa is almost always at the other side of the net. Wimbledon 2008, Australian Open 2010, yup they were all brilliant, and this final is one of those. His parting words tonight were “I will keep fighting.” I’m sure you will Raf, and we will keep on supporting you. Vamos! to the one man Spanish armada.
